The Help

Just finished the book "The Help"!!! AND picked up the movie so now I can FINALLY watch it!! Loved the book and have heard great things about the movie!! 

Now, no more fiction books for me for a while, new goal I'm starting with Nana is to read a book on every President. Picked up a book on Lincoln when we went to his cottage last spring titled "Mr. Lincoln Goes to War" the reviews on this book that I have read so far are quite interesting, many readers feel the author has a negative opinion of President Lincoln and say the book is more about the war than the president himself. I'll share my opinions once I finish the book!

Half Aprons

I've personally never been a big fan of half aprons. Thought the only messes I made while cooking would need a full apron to protect me. However, I have always thought half aprons were very cute, just not practical. A few nights ago I made this AMAZING recipe from http://ellenaguan.blogspot.com/2011/11/avocado-chicken-parmigiana.html and like the amateur cook that I am, I didn't wear an apron at all, and got pasta sauce all over my pants. It was at this time that I realized had I been wearing even just a half apron my pants would've been safe! So, there it was, my inspiration to start making half aprons!

Great Weekend So Far!!

What a great weekend I've had so far! Got to kick it off with a 8.5 mile with the Charlottesville 10 miler club. Then, spent the rest of the day making coffee cozies. If you haven't gotten into this craze yet, you have to!! Below I've added some pictures of the cozies I made today.
